1 November 2022
3 mins read

Integrated crop and resource management is an alternative to intensive rice management in irrigated rice fields. Integrated Crop Management is an approach that will restore rice yields to their original level, because:

  • Increased grain yield and rice quality
  • Through the use of appropriate technology, rice farming costs are reduced
  • Health and environmental sustainability of rice growing and the environment are maintained The superior technology of rice with the PTT approach:
  • Superior Varieties: Varieties that are suitable for the local environment
  • Seeds: Using quality seeds / labeled. Soak in a solution of salt / ZA, take the sinking one
  • Soil tillage: Complete, minimal, or no tillage according to the needs and environmental conditions; Determining factors: long dry season, cropping pattern, soil type/texture
  • Nurseries: Wet or dry nurseries, fertilization of nurseries
  • Seedlings: Plant young seedlings 15 – 21 days (4 leaves)
  • Fertilization: Adjustment of N fertilization with Leaf Color Chart, P, K fertilization according to soil analysis, or plant needs
  • Intermittent irrigation on soils where the water can be regulated and water availability is guaranteed
  • Pest and disease control : Use IPM components (integrated pest/disease control) correctly and suitable
  • Weed control : Plow the soil after it is flooded Source: Julistia Bobihoe (2007). IPengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (PTT) Padi Sawah. Jambi Agricultural Technology Research Center.
