Plants experiencing nitrogen deficiency showed stunted and yellowing growth symptoms, smaller leaves than healthy plant leaves. The general sign of N deficiency in young plants is yellowing of the entire plant, while in older plants, the symptoms are noticeable on the lower (old) leaves, which are yellowish-green to yellow. In addition, the resulting tillers are reduced and flowering late, but the ripening process is faster so that the fertility is reduced. The grain from the panicle produced is also reduced.
