Hazton Method of Rice Cultivation Techniques

1 November 2022
3 mins read

Hazton’s technology is the result of the thought of the son of the West Kalimantan region, namely Ir. Hazairin MS and Anton Kamaruddin, SP, M.Sc. Hazton technology can be interpreted as a way of planting rice using old seeds that are 25-35 days after sowing with a dense number of seeds, namely 20-30 seeds per planting hole. The procedure or method of planting will determine the yield of the crop. The SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) of Hazton Technology that must be applied to obtain maximum yields are:

  • Land Processing: Aerobic Decomposer Application of Manure and Straw in the field
  • Basic Fertilization: SP 36 Fertilizer Dosage : 100 kg/ha*)
  • Seed Soaking: Early Immunization of Rice Against Crackle Disease
  • Sowing Seeds: Remove the seeds and do not wash
  • Application of early immunization of rice against crackle disease and stem borer caterpillars (14 DAS)
  • First fertilization application (5 – 7 DAP): Phonska NPK 100kg/ha)*, KNO3 Fertilizer 4.5kg/ha
  • Spraying the Vegetative Phase (14 DAP): Control of Rice against Crackle Disease
  • Second fertilization application (25 DAP): Phonska NPK 100 kg/ha*)
  • Spraying the Vegetative Phase (28 DAP): Growth Increase, Rice Control against Crackle Pests and Diseases
  • Application of disease control and growth promotion (40 DAP)
  • Application of disease control and grain filling (50 DAP)
  • Application of disease control and grain filling (60 DAP) Source: Hazairin, 2016. Materials of the Hazton Technology Rice Cultivation Coordination Meeting
